I love the perspective here and the sense of motion. But I really find myself intrigued by the facial expressions - almost pensive rather than elated. Makes me wonder what they might be thinking. I also find myself intrigued by the girl's interesting grip on the rails. Altogether a very engaging painting. I like this a lot!
"Surreal" means almost but not quite real, as in a dream, as in this painting. It is a different type of surrealism that I am working on. I call it Jungian Surrealism as opposed to the conventional, passe, Freudian surrealism which generally bores me to tears to look at now because everybody uses the same old, hackneyed Dali/Magritte imagery.
